The exhibition presents the rich architectural heritage of Portorož, with an emphasis on the flourishing of villas as a building object of the wealthier class of the population, which coincides with the rise of Portorož as a monastic resort at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In parallel with the construction of hotels, villas began to dominate the Portorož Riviera at this time, adding a touch of exclusivity to the northern Adriatic spa resort with their architectural appearance and carefully landscaped surroundings. Luigia, Leopoldina, Maria, Daria, Lidia and Amalia are just a few of the villas in Portorož that are presented in the exhibition through architectural plans, pictures and photographs of the sites, with detailed information on the investors, architects and years of construction.
The exhibition is the result of the authors' collaboration in a tourist-historical study and digitisation of public and private archival material of the architectural heritage of Portorož. The opening of the exhibition will be followed by a one-hour lecture in lecture room 001 by mag. Tomi Brezovec on the role of Portorož villas in the tourist development of the destination. The exhibition will be on display until 20 May 2024. Tomi Brezovec, UP FTŠ Turistica, in cooperation with the Regional Archives Koper-Capodistria.

Slovenian fairy tale protagonists (fairy tale heroes) find happiness far from home. After leaving home and enduring trials, they achieve what they want - to get rich, marry a princess, rule a kingdom and... live happily ever after. The journey of the fairytale protagonist holds within it a roadmap for achieving the goals set and, consequently, for achieving inner contentment. During the seminar we will learn how Slovenian folk tales can teach us - on a symbolic level - to leave the familiar and achieve the desired.
This seminar is for anyone who wants to learn how to successfully achieve their goals and stay motivated. It is led by Dr. Katjuša Gorela
